That Amazing Place Wedding Video – Personal Moments in a Hidden Gem
Hidden Gem, Beautiful Memories
Every once in a while, a venue comes along that feels like more than just a setting—it becomes part of the story. That Amazing Place, tucked quietly into the Essex countryside, does just that. It’s intimate without being small, elegant without feeling formal, and incredibly well-suited to couples who want a relaxed, emotionally charged day with their closest people.
As a wedding videographer, I’ve filmed across grand estates, sweeping manor houses and sleek modern venues—but there’s something about That Amazing Place that just makes storytelling feel easy. Maybe it’s the natural light, or the privacy, or the way it brings people together without distractions.
Liah and Gary’s wedding here was one of those days where everything aligned: the light, the laughter, the pacing, the people. This blog is a look behind the lens—how we filmed it, why the venue worked so well, and what couples planning a wedding at That Amazing Place might want to know if they’re thinking about hiring a videographer to capture their day.

Why That Amazing Place is Made for Cinematic Videography
Natural Light, Scenic Backdrops, and Calm Energy
One of the biggest strengths of That Amazing Place is how everything just flows. There’s no racing between hotels and ceremony sites, no tight corridors or tricky lighting setups. From the bridal suite to the gardens, everything is set up to support a relaxed, seamless experience—and for videographers, that’s gold.
Liah got ready in one of the light-filled prep rooms upstairs. The soft morning glow coming through the large windows gave us the kind of natural lighting you simply can’t fake. There’s no need to set up video lights or bounce flash off the ceiling—we just leaned into the atmosphere and let it speak.
Meanwhile, Gary had the run of the main lounge for his prep, keeping things casual and unhurried. I was able to drift between them both without stress, capturing those real, unscripted moments that mean the most in the edit—quiet smiles, the steadying deep breaths, handwritten notes being read aloud.
The surrounding grounds also offer incredible variety for shooting—from manicured lawns and garden arches to quiet corners under tall trees. It means your couple portraits don’t have to feel staged. We walked and filmed naturally as the couple chatted, laughed, and took it all in.
That Amazing Place doesn’t demand anything from couples.
It simply gives them the space to be themselves—and that, more than anything, is what makes a great wedding film.

Capturing an Outdoor Ceremony with Personality
Some wedding venues feel made for formalities. That Amazing Place feels made for connection. And nowhere is that more evident than in its outdoor ceremony setup.
When Liah and Gary chose to hold their ceremony outside, the forecast looked promising—but, as always, we prepared for surprises. What we got instead was golden afternoon sun, a gentle breeze, and an atmosphere so still you could hear every word of their vows without interruption.
They kept the ceremony intentionally personal—unplugged, heartfelt, and accompanied by a live pianist who underscored the entire moment without overpowering it. With no phones in the air and no distractions from the guests, the emotional energy stayed right where it should be: on the couple.
From a videography perspective, it was a dream.
The aisle framed by trees, natural sunlight filtering in behind them, guests seated just close enough to feel intimate—it meant I could work discreetly with a long lens, moving fluidly between Liah’s expressions and Gary’s quiet reactions without stepping into the moment.
🎥 Real Moment:
There was one look—right before Liah stepped forward to say her vows—that said everything. It lasted maybe two seconds. But it made the final cut because we weren’t scrambling with gear or dodging crowds. We were simply ready, in the right place, waiting for the story to unfold.
The combination of space, silence, and emotion made this ceremony one of the most powerful we’ve filmed at That Amazing Place. It was all about being present—something this venue, and this couple, embraced completely.

From BBQ Buffet to Dance Floor – A Relaxed Celebration Unfolds
Weddings at That Amazing Place don’t follow a rigid script—and that’s exactly what makes them so special. Liah and Gary designed their day around connection, not tradition, and the venue’s flexibility gave them the freedom to do just that.
Instead of a formal sit-down dinner, they went for a barbecue-style meal. Guests moved between tables and outdoor seating areas, drinks in hand, laughter echoing through the garden. From a filmmaker’s point of view, this relaxed structure offered more opportunities for natural interaction—kids playing on the lawn, quiet catch-ups between guests, and impromptu dance moves before the party had even started.
The speeches were slotted in just before dinner—again, casual but packed with emotion. With the sun dipping slightly and guests comfortably gathered, I was able to move gently between angles, capturing both the speakers and the reactions that followed.
🎥 Real Moment:
Gary’s dad gave a short, unfiltered speech that had everyone in stitches—including the couple. With a mic feed going into the Tascam X8 and backup recorders on each speaker, we caught every word, every laugh, every glance. Later, during editing, this moment became a cornerstone of their feature film—it gave their personalities centre stage.
As day turned into evening, the atmosphere shifted—but never lost its intimacy. Their first dance took place just as the light softened through the trees. The fairy lights came on. Guests circled the couple. No over-choreographed routines—just swaying, smiles, and genuine joy. We stepped back, framed it, and let the moment breathe.
The dance floor soon followed, and the evening unfolded with the same laid-back charm. People dancing barefoot, drinks spilling (in a good way), music echoing from the speakers and out into the garden.
At That Amazing Place, it’s not about high drama. It’s about real emotion, comfort, and presence—and that made Liah and Gary’s wedding a true pleasure to film.

Technical Insight – Filming at That Amazing Place
Every venue has its quirks, and part of our job as wedding videographers is knowing how to adapt—quietly, quickly, and without drawing attention. That Amazing Place, however, makes that part of the job easier than most.
🎥 One Location = Seamless Coverage
Because the venue allows for everything to happen on-site—from morning prep to dancing—it removes the usual headaches around travel, parking, or tight transitions. This meant we could keep all our gear set up and ready without the stress of relocation. No lugging tripods down driveways, no racing between ceremony and reception spaces. Just calm, consistent storytelling.
We filmed Liah and Gary’s day using a combination of:
- Sony A7S III and A7 IV for cinematic image quality and low-light flexibility
- Sigma 35mm and 50mm lenses for those rich, emotional close-ups
- DJI Ronin SC2 for smooth walk-throughs and couple shots in the gardens
- Sony TX660 and Zoom F2-BT mics for discreet, clean audio during the ceremony and speeches
- Manfrotto monopod and tripod to stabilise key moments without getting in the way
🎧 Audio That Matches the Emotion
Because everything takes place in one central area, we were able to plan mic placements early in the day. The groom had a lav mic (Zoom F2-BT), the handheld mic used during speeches was backed up with a Sony TX660, and a direct feed from the PA system went into the Tascam X8. This setup gave us crystal-clear audio from start to finish, with zero guesswork in post.
🎥 Real Moment:
The registrar’s voice carried beautifully during the outdoor ceremony, and our setup meant we captured both their delivery and Liah and Gary’s soft-spoken vows—without needing to boost or tweak the levels artificially.
✨ Venue-Friendly Lighting
With its large windows and soft neutral interiors, That Amazing Place rarely needs artificial lighting during the day. We only brought in a touch of Rotolight Neo 3 during evening speeches to balance things out as the natural light dropped.
In short: this venue supports storytelling. It doesn’t fight against it.

Final Thoughts – Why This Venue Still Stands Out
There are wedding venues that impress on arrival—and then there are venues that stay with you. That Amazing Place falls squarely into the second category.
From a videographer’s point of view, it’s the kind of space that lets real stories shine. There’s no rush between rooms. No echoey halls swallowing speeches. No dim prep spaces requiring workarounds. Just genuine, personal moments happening in a relaxed, intimate setting—with beautiful light and natural flow from start to finish.
Liah and Gary’s wedding was full of joy, warmth and thoughtful details—but what made their film truly special was how comfortable they were in the space. That calm, grounded energy translates directly into the final video—and it’s something we notice every time we film here.
If you’re planning your wedding at That Amazing Place and wondering how to capture it without fuss, without staging, and without missing the moments that really matter—we’d love to help.
