Sitting in the midst of the pretty Norfolk countryside with spectacular gardens, a medieval church and a huge Barn, Oxnead Hall is a multi- award-winning venue that is highly sought after, so it was fantastic when Lauren and Thomas asked me to provide the wedding videography for their special day.

Situated just off the A140, Oxnead Hall is ideally positioned for easy access from Norwich, Cromer, Great Yarmouth and the South East. Beyond the Hall, Oxnead has an array of other types of spaces including an Orangery a rustic barn conversion, so it is a really versatile wedding venue that offers some of the best options in Norwich.
Built in the 16th century Oxnead Hall is a grade II-listed building nestled amongst 16 acres of landscaped gardens. Designed by the Paston brothers in an arresting Italian Renaissance style, the multi-terrace gardens are absolutely gorgeous.
Dotted with all manner of beautiful features including a lake, a water garden, an exquisite Tudor Parterre, a walled kitchen garden, a woodland garden and lots more – it was an unbelievable setting for lots of amazing wedding videography.
The River Bure can even be found at the foot of the gardens. The weather was great so we were able to get lots of great shots by the lakes and amongst the gardens.
Wedding At Oxnead Hall / Norfolk
The Great Barn is one of the many highlights at Oxnead. From its high, wood-beamed ceilings, to its beautiful wooden floors, gallery, bar and endless space, the Great Barn is an excellent barn conversion wedding venue with top facilities and lots of light.
The Great Barn leads out onto the Fountain Courtyard, which is a pretty space featuring a fountain in the centre and lots of fragrant lavender and roses amongst the comfy outdoor seating.
Lauren and Thomas wanted a religious ceremony so it was brilliant that Oxnead even has its own charming medieval church, St Michaels and All Angels on the estate. Located beside the walled gardens it is possible to have your church wedding and reception within one location which is pretty unique for Norwich wedding venues.
Decorated with stained glass windows, chandeliers, wooden pews and plenty of period features, St Michaels and All Angels provided a picturesque setting for Lauren and Thomas to exchange their vows.
The Orangery and the gardens themselves provide so many other options for your ceremony and reception. The area beside the lake or the water gardens are popular spaces to exchange your vows outdoors.
Meanwhile the turreted Orangery is an elegant space beside the Tudor Parterre with stone floors, pretty mullioned windows and neutral decor.
Conveniently located next door to The Great Barn, the Fountain Room is another light-filled space that is neutrally decorated and can be used in conjunction with the Great Barn, as a venue for your reception or in any other way you choose.
