Chateau de Varennes Wedding Video – Real Experience from a Destination Wedding Videographer
There are wedding venues — and then there’s Chateau de Varennes. I’ve filmed weddings all over the UK and abroad, but this place in Burgundy, France, stands out for all the right reasons.
Last summer, I had the opportunity to film Christina & Adam’s wedding here. I want to share what it’s really like to capture a wedding at Chateau de Varennes, based on first-hand experience. This isn’t sales talk — just honest insight for couples planning their day and wondering what their wedding video could look like.

Why Chateau de Varennes is a Brilliant Choice for a Luxury Wedding
Chateau de Varennes feels exclusive from the moment you arrive. The grand white building, perfectly-kept gardens, lavender fields, the private chapel — it’s made for weddings that want elegance without stress.
You’ve probably heard that footballer Harry Maguire got married here, so it attracts high-end clients. But honestly, what stood out most to me wasn’t the celebrity side — it was how well-run everything is. The staff are brilliant. Alex from Amoro Events, one of the recommended planners, made the day feel easy for everyone. As a videographer, working with someone organised and calm like Alex makes all the difference.
If you’re looking for a wedding venue in France that’s luxury, looks incredible on camera, and is actually easy to plan — this is it.

My Honest Experience Filming at Chateau de Varennes
I’ll be blunt — not every venue is videographer-friendly. Some look great in photos but are awkward for filming. Chateau de Varennes? No such problem.
The outdoor ceremony spot, under those huge trees, is shaded perfectly. No harsh sun ruining the shots, no overheating cameras, even in summer. The layout means I can move around without getting in the way, which helps me keep things natural and documentary-style.
One of my favourite parts of the day is the sunset portraits in the lavender field at the back of the venue. That light is unreal. If you care about those soft, cinematic golden hour shots — this is where it happens.
For Christina & Adam’s wedding, I used a mix of drone footage, gimbal stabilisation, and discreet filming to keep the focus on real moments without making guests feel awkward.

Christina & Adam’s Wedding — A Proper French Celebration
They made the most of this venue. It wasn’t just a wedding day — it was a full experience.
The night before, they had a BBQ by the pool, relaxed atmosphere, live music, speeches — perfect for capturing candid moments.
On the wedding day, the morning started calm but buzzing with excitement. Adam and his groomsmen had a whiskey toast; Christina and the girls got ready in the Pink Lounge.
The first look in the chapel was emotional, just them, no audience — raw and real.
The ceremony, outside under the trees, looked incredible on camera. Natural light, no harsh shadows, everyone comfortable.
Afterwards, cocktails by the statue, portraits in the lavender field, then dinner and the evening party.
They had everything — live band Forever Diamonds, fireworks, DJ, saxophone performance. It felt fun, polished, but never over-rehearsed. Exactly what you want from a wedding film.

Real Feedback from the Couple and Planner
Nothing says more than what the couple thought:
“Thank you so much for the preview!!!! You did such a fantastic job and we love it!! Adam and I are so impressed with all the work you put in and what you created from everything!! Thank you so very much!” — Christina
And from Alex, the planner:
“Hey Tomasz! Amazing video! Love love love!”
As a wedding videographer, I aim for films that feel genuine — not overproduced, but still polished, cinematic, and personal.

Do You Need an Experienced Chateau de Varennes Wedding Videographer?
Honestly — yes.
This venue looks easy, but knowing the spots, timing the portraits for sunset, handling the logistics without fuss — that takes experience.
I’ve filmed over 350 weddings, from the UK to Italy, Greece, Bermuda, and now France. Chateau de Varennes is one of the best for making couples feel relaxed while still getting those “wow” shots.
If you want your wedding video to feel personal, elegant, and tell the real story of your day — I can help.
